We at Socialserve.com express our sincerest gratitude to the thousands of users who, on a daily basis, visit our site, make suggestions, offer feedback and supply information. It is our honor to serve you.
We also thank the following sponsors for their vision, insight and support:
A founding sponsor, The City of Charlotte has contributed ongoing fiscal support for development of the housing database. The City of Charlotte has a long-term commitment to support the housing database and departments using the service are realizing incedible time-savings and gaining efficiencies.
2002 marked a new type of sponsorship with the success of the Charlotte Housing Authority and Socialserve.com partnering for a Housing Search Assistance Program grant process (see HUD 2002 below).
This $1-million grant has allowed the CHA and Socialserve.com to work closely together on several leading-edge developments that meet client service, tracking and training needs of housing authorities both large and small.
Fannie Mae Corporate and the Fannie Mae North Carolina CBC, formerly under the direction of Jon Gauthier, hold the distinction of being our first partner. Working in tandem with Rep. Sue Myrick's Task Force on Affordable Housing, Fannie Mae generously and tirelessly supports Socialserve.com in many ways.
In 2002, Fannie Mae's Kansas City office joined in supporting our service and has been instrumental in establishing awareness of Socialserve.com in the KCMO region.
Socialserve.com continues to work with Fannie Mae in many areas of the country on other initiatives as well.
The Foundation for the Carolinas has been a long-time supporter of our efforts on the task of translating our Website and developing Web-infrastructure so we may offer a Latino-friendly version of Socialserve.com. Several of the features we offer have been developed through collaboration with the Foundation.
A founding sponsor, the City of Gastonia has contributed fiscal and professional support. Thanks to the vision of Annie Thombs, Mary McCeight, Joan Painter, Gaston Housing Authority Director, Gary Foster and the CARE Connection of Gaston County, the City of Gastonia demonstrated incredible foresight as an early adopter and has served as a primary "Beta-Test" Site for many of our new services.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), through fiscal funding, thanks in large part to the enthusiastic support of Rep. Sue Myrick (R) NC, Jayda Justice of Representative Myrick's office and countless letters of support, awarded Socialserve.com a grant for initial development and testing of our housing database.
In 2002, HUD awarded Socialserve.com and the Charlotte Housing Authority (see above) a $1-million grant to develop several unique systems that assist Section 8 voucher holders in streamlining the process of obtaining stable rental housing. Socialserve.com now serves five of the six areas that received HSAP grants.
Today, HUD lists Socialserve.com as a primary rental resource in the regions that we serve.
And the list of partners and sponsors continues to grow . . .
